First edition in original near fine wrapper (Ace Series,presumed 1st)
Black and white frontis and plates by Howard Leigh,W.E.Johns half brother.
Very nice clean and bright copy. Some foxing to the text block,mainly top, with minor foxing to occasional page margins. Front board have some faint white marks,even fainter to the spine and rear panel otherwise bright and clean,tiny crease to one corner.No inscription. 
Dust wrapper/ Rubs/tiny nicks to spine top but the spine bottom is VG. The front cover corners have tiny chips. The top front edge has two 1/2 cm closed tears with a crease in between. Slight curling to the top edge of the front/rear flap. Not price cut. Overall a clean and bright complete scarce wrapper with minor defects.
