Short Sorties signed by W E Johns

This book is part of the Margaret Collins collection. Margaret Collins was Johns's niece and she inherited his personal reading library. This copy is signed by Johns. The inscription to the front end paper reads "Bing from Bill June 1950". Bing is probably John's brother.
The top and bottom edges of the front and rear boards are faded as is the top and bottom of the spine (3 x 3cm). The outside corners are bumped. The text block is foxed and this has spread heavily to pages 160 to 170 and to some  margins throughout. The foxing is also on the rear end paper and inside board.
Dust Wrapper 3 x 3cm loss to spine bottom corresponding to fade on book slight loss also up spine hinges from loss heavy creasing along bottom of front and rear panel 1 cm square loss to spine top back corner running above title with v shaped loss to spine top right corner rubs effecting title. 3.5 by 2cm jagged loss to front panel bottom right corner with rubs minor loss to all other corners with fairly heavy rubs to flap and spine hinges. Some creases to upper front panel foxed to reverse of wrapper not price cut colour copy put behind orginal wrapper
