The pictorial boards are bright and bold. The right hand top and bottom corners are bumped and rubbed. The spine is straight. The top and bottom of the spine has edge wear. The rear board has some grubby marks to the top edge. There is a neat inscription to the front end paper. The internal pages are clean and there is no foxing. The colour plates are all intact and bright and bold. The binding is tight.
Dust wrapper/ The top edge of the front cover is creased with a 1cm closed tear. There is loss to the top left hand corner this loss is affecting the top of the spine, measuring 6cm x 2cm this loss is affecting the title. The bottom edge of the front cover has creases with small chips and tiny closed tears and one 4cm closed tear with a corresponding crease attached and another on the spine hinge measuring 3cm. The top and bottom right hand corners have chips. The loss at the top of the spine has a1cm closed tear attached. The bottom edge has edge loss and a 2.5 x 2cm loss and a v shaped 1/2 cm chip. The publisher is affected. The back cover bottom edge has tiny chips with tiny closed tears. There are two closed tears one is 3cm and the other 2cm. All four corners have chips. The top edge has lots of tiny chips and edge loss with tiny closed tears. The front and rear flaps top edges are curled. The rear of the jacket has tape to all of the tears.
