Biggles in the Baltic W E Johns SOLD

The boards and spine are square. The lettering and pictorial illustration on the front cover and spine are clear. The front board has some grubby marks. There is a faint crese running from top to bottom front flap side. The top and bottom right hand corners are bumped and the bottom corner is rubbed. The spine is grubby and the top edge is slightly rubbed. The rear board has some black marks and the bottom left hand bottom has a 2cm  fraye to the bottom edge. The left hand bottom corner is bumped and rubbed. The front and rear inside boards and end papers are clean with no inscription. The hinge has pulled on the frontis and title page but the binding is otherwise reasonably tight. The text block is browned. The internal pages are foxed.
Dust wrapper/ The front cover bottom edge has a 1cm closed tear, with a  v shaped crease attached  that has been taped to the rear. There are rubs to the spine side with a tiny chip. The bottom of the spine hinge has a 1.5cm tear. The top right hand corner has 2cm x 0.5cm loss, with a piece of paper placed behind. The top left hand corner has a 3cm tear, running onto the spine with loss at the top. There is an additional 2cm closed tear to the top of the spine, almost meeting the other. There is edge loss to the top of the spine not affecting the title. The bottom of the spine has 4cm x 1cm loss running onto the back cover, affecting the publisher. The back cover bottom edge has a 2cm closed tear. The rear flap hinge has a 2cm x 1cm loss with paper placed behind. There are three horizontal closed tears to the middle and a tiny hole above. The top of the hinge has a 4cm closed tear with a tiny chip to the top of the tear. The top right hand, spine hinge has a 3cm closed tear. Price cut.The rear of the jacket is clean.1983 JW
