Biggles in Spain W E Johns

1939 First edition. Pictorial boards as first but these boards are blue. Not quite full thickness with original pyramid, flying jacket, dust wrapper.
The front cover is straight with no bumps and the pictorial illustration and title are bold and clear. The spine is straight and without bumps and the title very good. The back cover is also straight and un bumped. The right hand corners are slightly rubbed. The front inside board has had a boo plate removed leaving traces. The front end paper has no inscription and is clean. The frontis has a small gash to the hinge, no affecting the title. The text block long side has slight foxing which has spread minimally to some margins. The internal pages are otherwise clean and bright. The binding is tight. The rear end paper and inside board are both clean and bright.
Dust wrapper/ The entire cover is reasonably bright and clean. The front cover has chips to all four corners. The bottom right hand chip has a closed tear 1cm attached. The spine is un sunned. The top and bottom edges are rubbed with tiny closed tears. The back cover has a closed tear to the bottom edge 1 and 1/2 cm and another one 2cm to the top right hand corner. The left hand corners have small chips. The front and back flaps are clean. Price cut. The back of the wrapper is clean./1433
