First edition,Correct thickness in original wrapper,probably from thinner book,Biggles Sees it Through to rear list thus circa 1941.
Colour frontis by Howard Leigh and black ands white plates by Alfred Sindall.
The front and rear boards are clean and bright and the gold dou bloon is bold and bright The right hand top and bottom corners have minor rubs and the top right corner has a slight bump/ crease. The spine is straight and the lettering clear. The front end paper has a small star in ink to the top right hand corner. No inscription. The frontis is loose half way, otherwise the binding is tight and the internal pages are clean and bright. The text block is foxed and this has spread to occasional margins.
Dust wrapper/ The front cover top right hand corner has some loss 1.5 X 2.5 cm. the top edge minor rubs/crease. There are indications from the creases and rubs on the spine and front and back cover that this wrapper has been moved from a medium thick book to this correct full thickness book. there is a crease with rubs and loss running from top to bottom of the front cover front flap side.There are also two creases with rubs running down the spine from top to bottom and creases to the front and rear panel near the flap hinges. The bottom edge of the front cover has tiny closed tears and rubs. The bottom right hand corner has a chip. The top of the spine has loss affecting a majority of "Biggles". The bottom edge loss is 2.5 x 4.5 cm across the spine . The back cover top left hand corner has a 1 x 2 cm chip, with a crease attached. The bottom edge has rubs with tiny closed tears running along it. There is a 5 cm tear with some loss running on the crease on the rear flap side. This has an additional 4 cm closed tear attached.
