Early reprint in 4. Scarce original wrapper book is very good, 1935 early reprint (Autumn 1935 catalogue to rear). The front board is clean and straight. There is a slight rub to the top right-hand corner. The gilt lettering is bold and clear. The spine is straight and un-sunned. The top and bottom edges have minor rubs. The rear board is straight and clean. Tiny rubs to the top and the bottom left-hand corners. The front inside board has a book plate and a small book seller sticker. There is foxing to the text block and this has spread to the first fifteen pages and to the margins in the remainder of the book. The binding is very tight and all the pages are complete (including all plates). The front is bright and bold with no foxing. The rear end paper has foxing but the rear inside board is clean. Dust wrapper condition is good to very good but there has been some taping to the rear, see photos. The entire jacket is clean and bright, the spine is as usual a bit sunned. The front cover has a 3cm closed tear to the top edge. All four corners have small chips. The top left-hand corner has a 2cm closed tear attached. The top right-hand corner chip has rubs attached. Both front and rear flap hinges are rubbed. The spine has loss to the top and bottom edges. The top edge has two pieces missing. One is 1cm x 2cm and the other is 1cm x 1cm with rubs attached. The bottom edge has loss along the entire edge with a larger 3cm x 3cm triangle chip attached. The back cover has chips to the top and bottom left-hand corners. There are creases on the top right-hand corner. There is a closed tear running 1/3 up from the bottom edge running across the back cover. This has been taped on the reverse. The front and rear flaps are very good. Not price cut. The rear of the jacket has one fox mark but is otherwise clean./1642
