The front board has a fade running from top to bottom of the outside edge, 3cm deep. The gilt lettering is bright and bold. The top and bottom right hand corners are rubbed as are all the outside edges. The spine is very faded and the gilt lettering has worn away. There are minor creases and marks. The rear boards have faded to the spine edge and the left hand outside edge. The left hand top and bottom corners are bumped and rubbed. There are two pen marks to the middle. One measures 5.5cm and the other fainter one measures 3cm. The inside board and front end paper are browned. The dust wrapper has unfortunately been cut up to make a collage and this has been stuck to the front end paper. The internal pages are browned through aging. The colour frontis is bright and bold. The black and white plate opposite page 44 has come loose  with some crease to margins. The one opposite page 104 is half loose. There is no foxing to the text block or internally. The binding is reasonably tight.
